If FAC restrictions were lifted so that once you had an FAC you could buy/have whatever you wanted within current restrictions no SLR's or Autos
How many people would collect or buy more rifles and what would you buy?

I have a Blaser R93 in 309W and it is pretty much the perfect stalking rifle - light, easy to travel with, easy to live with, accurate out of the box, weather proof and comes apart in seconds after a wet day, suitable for all UK deer, ammo available everywhere.

I don't need another stalking rifle and even if I were to get one it would never be out of the house so instead I'd spend the money on stalking trips as in the long run it is the experiences that are important, not gathering up piles of gear.

I seam to the only one going down the reduction route.
A .243 and a 30-06 is going to become a .260 and a 22wmr? I figure that will cover anything I am likely to shoot including muley's in Montana!

I would spend 150 on buying an RFD licence then set about parting people from their money. ;)

add to the 150 the 1500 in monitored security, the larger sums on physical security and the weeks and months of paperwork and admin and you would probably be better off just buying a some rifles

Living in Switzerland, I am not subject to any of these restrictions. I have built up a reasonable collection of both hunting rifles and toys. I have come to love pistol shooting, particularly practical pistol. In the beginning I thought that I would never be able to shoot 1 inch groups at 10m and double tap, now they are par for the course.

I have my eye on a Blaser K95 but what I would really love would be an HK MP7

A second 300 Blackout this time in straight pull, another Henry Big Boy in 44mag but the engraved version to drool over :) Not a lot really but I'm quite happy with what I have already :D

And . . . I want my S&W 29 44mag revolver back! :(

I have no real desire to get any of the large calibre exotics. But it would be nice to be able to easily get 2 or more of the same calibre for different applications - for instance a very light, short .243 stutzen for woodland roe, to complement my conventional .243 for open ground.

Though perhaps we should be grateful there are some barriers to runaway obsession. I spent a fortune on rods and reels of every type and size when I first got into fly fishing, and now really only use 2 of them (and would be perfectly happy with just those two). Perhaps the whole variation rigmarole is actually a secret plot orchestrated by our other halves for domestic budgeting purposes...

I have 17HMR, .22BR and 257 Improved which cover all my field shooting needs, however i love late 19th century single shot black powder cartridge rifles and could reel of a comprehensive list of those i would like to own.
I would also acquire a 1903-A3 Springfield National Match rifle:-D

Well being in the USA I do get and try most everything I want !

Now with that being said I would still like to get a nice old hammerless Parker 10 gauge and a hammerless Parker 8 gauge !

A double rifle would be grand but I think I would rather have it in something from say the 275 Rigby on up to maybe the 333 Jeffery (uhm Pre War of course)!

I agree with some of the earlier guys - less is more. I am giving serious consideration to going back ten years, to a 270 and a 222. I can do everything I am ever likely to do with those two. I seem to have lots of rifles and little time to use them now.

I might want something heavy for long range targets / gongs.
