You don't expect to see an F1 car on your shooting ground!!!

As I was heading to my ground for a mooch around on Friday I heard a glorious sound emanating from the 3/4 mile concrete road that leads up the hill to the farm buildings, and on further investigation it was this little beauty!!

One of only 3 left in the world, a 1963 historic ATS Formula 1 car being run in ready for Monaco in a weeks time after having the pistons changed in the V8. It was getting up to about 125mph at 10k rpm even on this short bit of road!!

The guy who lives nearby owns a company who looks after historic race cars for clients and readies them for the races through the year. I just missed the AC Cobra being tested that was number 4 off the production line!!

Enjoy the vids!! :thumb:

My god, why can't modern F1 cars sound like that? You lucky, lucky fellow, all i ever get on my ground is grumpy, ignorant rambler types and nosy cows who come and breath down your neck as soon as you take up first pressure!!

Stratts. I don't expect to see them ,but I can hear the bloody things and the bikes most days, where I am .Wf1

Fantastic thread, this put a smile on my face! What a noise... Did he mention its value at all?? :D

Regretably I am old enough to remember they couldn't win a thing! 1963 was the year of the Lotus 25.

and just to add , We don't have farm roads like that up here lol if there was gonna be a test drive of anything on our roads it would be a new 4x4 or monster truck lol
