Just been going through the gear that was out in the rain last night, the .17 is soaking with Wipeout, coat drying, Leica's just had their usual tapwater rinse session, before investigating a problem with the adjustable eye relief cups, the left eye cup kept on becoming detached when removing the rubber rainguard that is attached to the neckstrap???.... on removing the eyecup, I found that the rubber armouring is intentionally detachable, leaving behind a plastic ring that is indented to give the three adjustments while on the bino's, this ring is similar in material used by the Sako optilock scope rings, & had cracked through across the rim, this was allowing loss of tension, making the eyecup stick in the rainguard, so out with the glue!..........It always pays off to do some admin while the smoke clears!
