Happy new year to all out there any one got any good loads for hornady 100 grain 243 loads using reloader 22 ???? Info much appreciated !

What sort of speed are you getting with 38.7g? I load 36gr N140 behind hornady 100gr BTSP and get about 2875fps. 38.7 seems a bit hot.

I use 40g of reloader 22
Federal 215 primers
Case trimmed to length
Head seated to just on the crimping canulure
I started at 38g's and worked them upto 41g to see what suited , stayed with 40g
Been my load since i started reloading, I hav tried other powders but found Reloader 22 suited me best for the 243
Hope this is some help

hi where can i find info on using vit n140 for the 100gr bullets its only printed up in the manuals i have for bullets below 87gr. i have a couple of kg of n140 as at the moment im only using 85gr bullets and i can find data for this bullet weight but not above. it all recomends n150 or n160 for 243win loads.

hi mate i use varget and 100 gr sierra and 35 grain and it group to about 1/2 inche hope that help:-|

sorry it should have read 38.1 gr of N140, it was a load from Lonnie Hummel at Hornady tech centre in the states, he also gave me a load for the 75 grain v-max using 38.5 grains of N140, superb accuracy with it and getting muzzle velocity of 3198fps

when you do the shooting test on the dsc1 is there a bulley weight limit like 100 grain sp like you would use in the field or can you use the 75 gr v-max? as accuracy is superb with them, replies would be most helpful

You can use any legal deer caliber, when i did my level 1 they wouldn't allow the use of home loads it was factory ammo only.

thanks for that robbo, will have to buy some next week and see what works best, just when i had rifle set up to shoot great groups, can you recommend anything for a tiika t3 varmint

Deanandrew64

I have a T3 varmint in 243 aswell i mostly reload, but mine also likes privi's in 90 and 100 grain. Cheap and groups around 1'' the 90grains perform a little better if i shape myself. if you rifle likes them they would be ideal for your shooting test. If they don't work try norma 100grain they shoot well in most bullet weights.

Regards Robbo
