Nasty. Can you give us a little more info on the injury? The specific part of the leg involved. How did the injury occur?
One of our cocker bitches did a tendon in January, she needed a tendon replacing with some fancy synthetic wire or 'piano wire' as the vet described it. She wasn't allowed to do anything for 2-3 months other than pottering about in the garden, but she's now fit as a fiddle. What ever you do, just don;t over do anything with him, no walks for a while, not even just down the road or tearing about the garden if he's so inclined. If you take it easy he should heal nicely, over do it and you will have the £800 + bill again !!! Hope he recovers well, keep us posted./QUOTE]

If it's just the small tendons at the front of the foot then the prognosis is good. Usually they will heel and be as good as new. The more serious injury would be if the retractor tendons at the back of the leg had sustained damage.
Unfortunatley it is the rear tendons and they were totaly severed along with an artery it wasnt pretty ...

Had him back at vets yesterday to have stitches out and wound redressed , unfortunatley the tendons had parted again made the very painfull decision to have him pts gutted especially for him a 3yr old in his prime. Going to take a while to get over that.
