De-cock Mauser M12 bolt?

Hi all

It is simple to de-cock my bolt in the gun, without 'dry-firing' but can it be de-cocked when its been removed?
I am not keen on having to store it separately from the gun, left cocked for long periods. I was taught to always 'ease springs'
Any other M12 owners able to advise please?
Also, I presume, for owners who don't have a second cabinet or ammo locker; they must be storing rifles with bolt in place?
Not something Im keen on doing.
Any thoughts on this welcome.
