Interesting to note the Icelandic premier is up to his neck in the 'offshore tax haven' scandal. I wonder if he or his closest lost money when the Icelandic Internet Banking system went **** up or whether his wealth was protected. Demonstrations to get him out and he threatens to dissolve parliament. Who are these people?

I was very angry when Iceland precipitated financial chaos in our local authorities and other investors.

Never shopped there since.

She probably though puffin is what you do after having large appendages added?

No different to our beloved Dave C. He's just better (marginally) at covering his tracks.

The only surprising thing about this story is why anyone is remotely surprised.

Some politicians and the media will try to spin this story into "offshore banking" and "corporations", but mostly you won't see much coverage, when the first sixteen politicians turned up are all socialists.

And the story is much broader. Where is the money coming from to fill these bank accounts in Panama, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and the British Virgin Islands? Not from salaries. Corporations and third world countries are putting money there, then moving it to pay bribes for subsidies, tax favors, and foreign aid.

if they do something illegal fine

but this whole cameron story is a non story..
He is just a dick who got spanked having made a farcical statement about Jimmy Carr's tax habits

The tax system is there to be navigated. You don't get bonus points for paying more than you should.
You can't set up a tax system that is easily circumvented and then complain when Amazon and eBay don't pay...or Jimmy Carr or David Cameron..or his parents...or anyone else for that matter.

We have accountancy and budgeting principles in this country that have promoted the wholesale de-investment in full time employees over contractors, outsourcing over internal departments, offshore over onshore, spend the budget or lose it next cycle, etc etc

It is fundamentally bad for the economy, for investment in infrastructure and company growth, promotes asset stripping and growth through acquisition rather than true growth,

but that is the game we have to play
Don't hate the player hate the game!

Agreed.

I didn't think you would get many people condemning offshore banking on this forum.
I see Cameron's off shore was only as far as Dublin, the real question is does anybody actually know where there pension fund is invested.

The wholesale de-investment I feel came from we the workers striking hard to up our deals in the 70s and getting the finger from the money men by them moving offshore.
