Wild boar bow hunting in Bulgaria. In 2 hunting days our guests from England get 13 yeraling wild boar.
Congratulations.

Looks like a couple of those boar have some domestic pig in them, that right?
I'm no wild boar expert mind

Read post #11 in your thread, Wild pig species. The other boar, apart from the spotted one are normal colour boar in summer coat. Yearling boar are for the most brown. That why we call them, Brungris ( brown pigs) here.

I didn't mean domestic, I meant feral or hybrids. The intention was not to discredit your outfit, more to clarify why one was spotted.
There are lots of them showing up in recent years as a result of the termoil that has taken place in that part of the world over the years.
I have seen quite a few and shot two simlar to those in Croatia and Hungary last year.

I think you will find spotted pigs in all European countries that have boar. I've not seen a single domestic pig outside here in Sweden. Picture of a spotted one i shot on my place last November.

So, Surely spotted/ pied boar a a result of inbreeding the same as black rabbits.
The spots are normaly of two shade type, eg back on grey, in dog terms this is called merle coloration and is a genetic defect.
I would be more worried if I was seeing, bare, white, or ginger pigs in the wild.

.

There is a simple test to see if they are pure boar or not is to Just wound one and then get it cornered. See if it will try and bite you on the arse or rip your leg off ;) .

That will definitely make it a wild boar, in fact very wild and down right angry but won't be able to prove whether it is feral or otherwise

Yep, you will be to busy trying to stop the bleeding to worry how pure a strain of wild boar it is :D.
