Amberdog it was a good stalk mate, i'd booked for 3 days stalking and i shot the buck pictured on my first outing along with a young buck. i shot the young buck first within about 20 minutes of setting off, it was a sunny afternoon and the young buck was laid down in the edge of the ride, i spotted him laid there and got the sticks up & rifle in position and just waited, after about 5 mins he decided to stand up & was stood broadside @ about 120yds, a shot to the heart dropped him on the spot. after the gralloch i hung him in the shade & continued my stalk not expecting to see much else, i walked almost a full circle back to where i had started to find the second buck only about 300yds from where i had shot the first, again a heart shot to the buck @ around 80 yds but this one managed to run a good 100yds into the forest, after about 10 minutes searching i found him stone dead, did the gralloch, returned to pick up the first one, then back to the b&b for some beer
