To be honest, I really don't know the definition of a "custom" or a "semi-custom" rifle, but this one certainly isn't factory!
It started life as a Sako 75 Action III .22-250 Synthetic Stainless Sporter profile, and is now a 6.5x47mm in a Laminated Varmint stock, with 28" 1-8" twist Lothar Walthar stainless barrel.
It was built by John Carmichael and the team at HPS Target Rifles for me and has only had 65 rounds through it since I picked up on 8th May.
It has Sako Optilock rings and bases, mounting a Sightron SIIISS 8-32x56 LRMOA scope (which does have a couple of marks - see photos - which is how it arrived with me) and has been zeroed at 100yds at BSRC, Bisley. It was shot in carefully - 1 clean, 1 clean, 1 clean, 3 clean, 3 clean, 3 clean, 10 clean, 10 clean, 10 clean, the rest of 65 and cleaned before going into the cabinet where it has remained since...
For complete transparency, the costs are as follows:
Donor rifle £645
(net of reselling stock and barrel)
Varmint stock £190
HPS build £728
(barrel, fitting, proof, shims to give MOA out to 1200yds)
Lapua brass £300
(200 new and sealed in boxes, 65 once fired and 35 loaded (by HPS) with 142gr Sierra Boat Tail Match King over 35.2 grains of N150)
100 rounds loaded £92
(bullet cost + HPS loading)
I've invested about £2,600 into this 5 month/65 round old long-range monster and continued redundancy forces me into selling
I'm asking £1,800 for the entire package - everything listed above. Please do feel free to PM me with any questions.
