    Muntjac vocalisations

I had always thought that calling muntjac was similar to calling a roe doe with the fawn call, and assumed that adult munty does didn't make much sound (apart from alarm barks).

this morning however, I was lucky enough to stalk into a buck in hot pursuit of a doe. She was calling to him in a high pitched fiep.

eventually the doe ran escaped across the ride I was standing on, but I managed to call her back to within 40yards. She was obscured behind bushes but the buck also came into the call and fell to a shot at sub 30y!

any thoughts on mating vocalisation in Munties??
