    Advice on red shallow cut

    Hi folks ,
I have my 1st ever red deer skull
( last year ) and I'd prepped it but not done anything till we move house ... Wife wanted it on wall in conservatory but on its own , no shield .
It's shallow cut .... Too shallow but first time I'd done a red ....
I got a block of wood & placed it into the skull and sealed in : filled with polyfiller
Then when dry screwed a small brass mounting plate on back and up it went , looked great too

Sitting other day and crash ! Down it came leaving the wood still hanging on screw on the wall luckily no damage either!
Any ideas of something sealing a block with mounting brass ring into a open cavity ?

There is a silicon type stuff called ct1 that would stick bone to wood for ever, I've used it to stick all sorts even in the damp its great but you won't remove it if you change your mind

What has possibly happened is that the inside of the skull is still carrying some grease in the bone. I would degrease it first. I would epoxy a wood block into the cavity afterwards and then you can hang it on the wall.

I have ordered a tube of that ct1 after a bit of digging on it.

I will take your advise and give a good degrease and dry thoroughly before I try again

    Thank you guys
