First buck with new set up

I've been after this buck since 1st April and he has eluded me four times so far - today it was my turn - I decided not to stalk but to use the recently changed high seat position at the other end of the ride and he walked straight out for me at around 80 yards. Gave me an ideal opportunity with my recently re-stocked .308 to take him free hand whilst sitting. Forgot about the angle from the high seat so the impact was a little high, missed the heart but shredded the lungs (150 grain PRIVI), he ran for about 40 yards and then dropped.

The new set up is a 1994 Weatherby Vanguard .308 with a Boyd stock recently arrived from the States - took six weeks (caught up in ash cloud) but well worth the wait. Took 5 minutes to swap stocks over and this buck was the first shot taken.

It cost a total of 111 which included VAT and parcel force handling fee!

Nice one Tony, cracking looking stock on that Weatherby too.

When your down next let me know & we'll go for that pint or three.

Life should be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving skidding in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!

At the risk pf hijacking Tony's thread, I'm also interested to know whether these stocks are available for tikkas! Just to push things even further, I'm looking for one in left hand for a 595.

Had a quick squint on their website, but nothing was jumping out at me.

Nice stock but surely not the first shot taken since fitting it?
