I have just received permission from a local farmer to shoot roe and foxes on his 450 acre farm (persistence in asking does pay off - EVENTUALLY!) anyway, he was telling me that recently he and some other farmers have become aware of people dumping live foxes in the area (he believes probably from the city). Is this a nationwide issue? does this happen on anyone elses land? It's obviously good for me from a shooting point of view however not good for the local estates and sheep farmers. It amazes me that these people complain about stress to foxes during a hunt but feel it perfectly acceptable to trap the fox, stick it in a cage, drive it along the motorway and turf it out in an alien environment with no bins for it to rake in, especially at this time of year when they have cubs on the go.
