Hi guys I shot a mature Buck yesterday with no antlers what so ever it was above average weight for the area testis seemed completely normal but the kidneys were black and cistic.
What is this condition?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Renal cysts. I've only seen it (pictures) in red deer. It's not hydronephrosis, where the cortex (outer part) becomes really thin. No known cause, not a food problem as far as I am aware

Thanks guys I think polycistic nephrosis is the diagnosis with lack of antlers being a symptom or possibly the other way round?, ie the lack antler growth triggered the nephrosis?
