A quick note to say well done to those who attended the BDS First Aid Course at Car Colston on the 24th April. This was the first course run under the new syllabus towards the BDS skills award. All those who attended thought it worthwhile, well run and delivered.

Also a well done to those who passed the Range Conducting Officers Course held at Calton Moor Range last weekend, delivered by an instructor from the NRA and assisted by Mike Dickinson from Calton Moor Range and Glyn Ingram, the Training Manager from the BDS.

A well delivered, in-depth course with a great insight into the running of any range. All those there thought it really opened our eyes to not only the complexities and responsibilities of RCOing but to the different angles brought to shooting by those in the target world.
An intensive course made more palatable by the surroundings and the fantastic food provided by Mike and Jan. Our thanks to them must be noted.

These courses were put together by the Committee of the East Mercia Branch of the BDS and were opened up to BDS members from all over the UK, who took up the offer and travelled a long way to attend (Cornwall last weekend). It is our intention to drive forward training for principally, our Branch members, but any BDS member who wants training is welcome to join us.
Please keep an eye on SD for announcements and opportunities.
