I've taken this from another site
If you're a BASC member they need your help right now, please read the following and send an email...! Please no speculation on this post.
You may be aware that there is considerable and growing disquiet about events which have taken place at BASC over the last few days. These events led to the resignation of Alan Jarrett as Chairman of our Association and the resignation of two other members of BASC Council. Our assets – including over £5,000,000 in cash at bank – are now at risk and the protection of our sport may be irreversibly weakened.
We feel it is now vital and urgent that an independent inspector is brought in to examine what has been going on and to protect our Association from wrongdoing.
BASC is a Registered Society, and is therefore regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Under the Cooperative and Community Benefits Society Act 2014. The FCA has the power to appoint an inspector to investigate if called upon to do so.
For this to happen we need the support of 100 BASC members. We need your support. Shooting needs your support. With your help we can call on the FCA to launch an investigation into what has been going on at BASC; to find out whether our assets are safe; and whether recent governance has been in keeping with best practice.
Should any of you require any further information please contact me on 07973209571.
Please forward this email to your fellow Wildfowlers in order that we can gain the 100 signatures.
Can you please confirm your support by sending an email to Lee Freeston at
lee@lfelectricalservices.com with the following wording:
In accordance with Section 106 of the Cooperative and Community Benefits Society Act 2014, I hereby request that the Financial Conduct Authority appoint inspectors to examine and report on the affairs of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation.
