well gents ,

im having a spot of bother finding a new left handed 7x75 .

i have found a few second hand on guntrader but ive made my mind up that i want new !

so far ive weighed up my options , and i could go for a new blazer or a sauer but will need a mortgage to pay for it or i could go for a semi custom with a remington or mauser action (rifle craft roughly quoted me 1200.00) which suits the bank balance better !

or im open to surgestions .

cheers lee

Ah, a leftie, we get ripped off with a premium when we buy, and insulted when we trade in.

Lee, there is a chap in surrey or sussex that specialises in south paw rifles in classic and african calibres. I think his name is Tim something and his business may be called Colonial Rifles (?) I have googled it but can't find the details. I think that he usually has a small box add in Gunmart. Might also have a conection with the SE branch BDS and/or BSRC. I know this is all a bit vague but, as I recall, he is a good chap and might be worth tracking down. JC

Lee, there's a new Heym 7x57 sinister at Reeves for £1500.

Hope you find something nice, a semi custom at £1,200 sounds good though.

right ok ,

ive bit bullet and have got a rifle to look at later in the week its a mauser 8000 second hand (beggars cant be choosers !)

im now thinking ahead , ive i can haggle the right price its coming home , but the only thing im having problems is with the mounts !

spoke to 1 dealer saying can only use mauser mounts , another says apel !

so my next question is , are there cheaper mounts available for a mauser 8000 ?

ive been on this bloody compouter all day and getting no where fast !

cheers lee

I would say that unless someone like Warne does a specific set of bases to allow the use of standard weaver style rings, you are screwed. You need to factor this in before you buy, as Apel will set you back in excess of £300.
