Looks quite a good size? Also very refreshing to see a post on what this site is based on.

Stalking is very much like going to the night club

The more times you go, there is always a chance of going home with one

You can always tell an Essex Boy, just you cant tell him much...

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply. It was chasing a doe round and round, probably watched them for 10 minutes or more. Very early for rutting activity. Eventually the pair crossed over into my field, and I took a broadside shot on the buck around 80 metres or so.

It made 17.5kg on the caped off carcass, so a reasonable adult buck . Good to know that the old Parker Hale .243 can still do its stuff.

    Yes, I like it.
To be honest I have had the rifle and scope for around 15 years. It has never let me down, and the steel bodied Kahles Super 8x56, has never lost zero as far as I can remember. It just like an extension of me, and all I do is deep clean the barrel once a year. Perfect on the Roe, and I have a Parker Hale .30-06 for the Sika.
