While putting my daughter to bed last night she spotted a large flock of birds out of the window, this was at 9.45. As they got closer we saw they were very high flying geese which sounded like pinks?? They were flying in a general East to West direction, slightly off to the North. I do see them flying over a number of times each year probably travelling to and from the Humber (I'm in Barnsley), but never at time of year as they should be in the far North. I know there are a few feral/resident birds about but this was 50 birds plus. I can not be 100% sure they were Pinks but it very much sounded like a wink wink to me.
Has anyone else seen them this time of year or have any different views?
