    Mornings stalk ruined

    Hi,

could not believe it this morning, up at 04.40. hour drive get kitted out 30 minute walk get into a position to sit up and wait for a buck. I spy a doe then another on a field four hundred yards away so signs are good that i may be in luck and a buck may be about. There goes a fox in next doors land, great lots of activity and i am thinking any time now i will see something when whoosh a huge flipping balloon gracefully cruises by making a hell of a racket. sheep cows everything running every way. does off fox of birds off. frank pxxxed off ha ha

nice picture but morning ruined for me.... ha ha

nothing seen away home empty handed

just out of curiosity does that mean you didnt really start til ten past 6???? I have been wondering about the merits of being out and about at 3am.

I was going to suggest that if that were me at this time of year i would be heading home. The roe will be out very early on warm mornings and then rest up as it gets hotter. If its a cold start then hang off a wee bit and let the sun warm the place. Ps you dont see a nice red ballon go by every day so think your self luckie

The last 3 bucks I've shot have been before 04:00.

It's nice to be out at any time though!

So deer are scared of hot air balloons?... Shame... there goes another high seat idea.

Get yourself a long pointy stick, or maybe a handful of tracer rounds!
