BASC Deer Stalker Network Wales Range Day - Saturday, July 10th

I've been notified about this day but am no longer a member of BASC. Is it restricted to BASC members only?
I seem to recall that when the Deer Stalker Network Wales was initially being set up it was targeted at all stalkers and not just BASC members. Please correct me if my memory fails me.

The relevant page on the BASC web site says, "The event is open to DSNW members only."

It also explains that the aim of the DSNW is "To provide a communications focus for BASC deer stalker members in Wales which will enable them to come together at deer related events in an informative atmosphere that will also allow an opportunity to socialise with likeminded members."

Seems to me you need to be a member.

Iwrch I am a member of the DSNW or so I am told but no longer a member of BASC.

I have cleared it up now following an email from Andrea Green at BASC, open only to BASC members.

It's nice to see something happening with BASC with regard to rifle shooting in "Wales" at last, but I note that this initiative has come from the deer department and not the region. I suggested to Glyn Cook four years ago a similar event on two occasions and even offered to host it at our club free of charge. "Thank you for the offer" last I heard of it.

A very poor turnout with only seven in attendance. Most disappointing. Don't be surprised if BASC decide to knock this one on the head due to a lack of interest.

Are there any here who didn't come for a particular reason? Would extending the DSNW to include the Marches make any difference? If we can gather a few comments they can be brought to the attention of the Deer Department who might then look to develop the idea further rather than lose it in the long grass.
