After putting in a lot of work I finally managed to get on to the big stag I've been after since velvet thanks to some great work at indicating by my gsp. Unfortunately as they broke cover I picked up the wrong stag in the scope and the rest is history.
Bit of a shame trophy wise as he had reasonable genetics to end up all right, I aged him around 5-6 from the jaw.
On the plus I got some prime venison which is my number one priority and tonight's slow cooked red stag and guiness pies were a knock-out.
