Sika hill stalking

On the first weekend of September after an absence of six months from Sika deer stalking I was very eager to get back onto the hill.
It was a fantastic day shared with family and friends who were also successful on the day.

I was lucky enough to have stalked in and shot two Sika stags.
The hills on this day were been covered at any opportunity by fog. At first the fog hindered the days stalking but
as the winds picked up the fog was used on one occasion to close the distance on the herd and a successful shot on the eight pointer was taken.

The kelty frame pack was soon loaded with the two stags and a 3km walk out soon got me back into the swing of things.
