Hi guys,
The goal posts have now been moved further away for the third time with the Euro lottery. They have now deviously added one more number to the lucky stars, so yet again lessening the odds of winning the jackpot. They have also put the price up by 50p (now £2.50) so it's now even more expensive with less chance of winning the jackpot??.... Brilliant value for money!!
Originally as well as picking 5 main numbers, you had to pick two numbers from 9 lucky stars, they then decided that the general public "wanted bigger jackpots" so they lessened the odds of winning the jackpot by increasing the number of lucky stars to 11 which meant it was far more likely to roll over than be won, now they have done it again and snuck in one more number and then increased the price for the privilege.
By the way, by previously doubling the price of the normal lottery "Lotto" ticket to £2 and then adding 10 more numbers, they have statistically made it more than 3 times as hard to win the jackpot whilst costing twice the price. So to get even less than the same odds of winning the jackpot that one original £1 ticket used to cost, you now have to buy 3 tickets at £2 each and therefore spend £6!
Odds of winning the Euro lottery jackpot with 9 lucky stars was 1 in 76 million
Odds of winning the Euro lottery jackpot with 11 lucky stars was 1 in 117 million
Odds of winning the Euro lottery jackpot with 12 lucky stars now 1 in 140 million
The odds of winning the lotto jackpot with 49 numbers was 1 in 14 million
The odds of winning the lotto jackpot with 59 numbers now 1 in 45 million
