it was a really short hunt,I left my house at 7pm and headed down a old trail I like to berry pick!
I had not been walking for 5 mins!
when i heard this guy in the willows , I Could not see him but i could hear him, I started to get bear fever!
i could hear him feeding on the berries!
He was around 20 yards away,I could see the odd glimpse of him!he started heading towards a small clearing were i could get a clear shot.
I drew my bow and waited for him to come out,a few seconds later he poked his head out into the clearing and i confirmed by his head scars that he was a boar.He stepped out fully and i shot him at a ranged 15 yards.
he took of lika race horse into the thick stuff.
I waited 30mins or so before looking for him although i new he was double lung shot! I found my arrow soaked in bubbly blood sticking in the dirt were he had entered the clearing!a very good sign in bowhunting, there was blood everywere and he had dropped no more than 25 yards away!
a very easy blood trail to follow!
bears can run extremely fast, they say up to around 40 miles an hour.both up hill or down hill!
thanks dan
