Just in from a quick stalk.
I have land about 7 miles from home so today me and the landowner went for a walk.
Ten minutes in i see a deer and decide to get into position to identify and shoot if possible.
Once i had identified it as a young buck with its mother (130 yards away) i decided that the youngster and mummy where coming home with us.
The land owner was bragging away saying told you so told you they where here etc.
As i got comfortable and ready to shoot as in looking down the scope, i seen a bobble in front of me, between me and the deer.
The said bobble was attached to a walker whom just decided to come between me and the deer, this is not a normal walking place !!!!!!!
As i said to the land owner there's a man in the way he says i know but there's a doe beside it, he assumed i was referring to the buck.
Needless to say i dropped the rifle and watched as the deer disappeared into the background as they had now seen the walker.
We called over the man and asked what he was up to, he said he was bird watching and that he didnt realise he was doing anything wrong.
As you can imagine i was angry but i didnt let it show, i explained to him that he had basically walked into the middle of a stalk and was lucky i had seen him.
I told him we tried to get his attention but he was in a world of his own.
The landowner was not amused to have this person on the land but i did all the talking.
We parted amicably and i asked the walker to go round the woods to return to his car.
Now here in lies the impending question.
How much turds would i have been in if i hadn't seen his hat and taken the shot....
who would have been in the right if i did take the shot
All i can do is thank the gods i seen him, i cant imagine where i'd be now and what would have happened if i took the shots.
Take care out there lads/lassies
