I have a double Mitton Hall kennel system. These kennels being made entirely of plastic and galvanised steel are excellent for cleaning and can be totally power washed inside and out but at almost 2000 I am not convinced in standard form that they are the best in cold weather. The opening into the sleeping area is fairly large (you can buy doors but my dogs do not like being closed in) so I have fitted hessian sack covers over the openings. I have also fitted tube heaters in both kennels which improves matters greatly and combining this with a good bed of straw the dogs are fine. Compared to my old wooden kennels the Mitton Hall kennels are easier cleaned and maintained but are lacking in winter warmth.

Anybody else with these kennels and have you improved them for these cold winters?
