New VihtaVuori Reloading Guide (Edition 9)

For 243 and 85/87 gr using Vit 160 it is a remarkable change from the previous manual.

EG: 2008 manual Vit 160 87Gr start: 44.2 stop: 47.1

And 2011 manual Vit 160 85 gr start: 37.3 stop: 43.8.

And 2002 manual Vit 160 85gr start: 42.0 stop 46.6.

I found the 2008 guide loads were too hot and used the 2002 manual which is similar to the 2011 manual.

Well spotted, I guess it just reinforces the "reloaders rule" start low and work up!

Thanks for that link mate,

You saved me a fortune on the cost of the manual,so now i will only have to wait untill 2012 to be able to afford the powder.

Regards Mick.

Good find! Don't suppose anyone has any other reloading manuals in electronic format (legal of course) either links to them on the web or the actual files?

Loading data

If you put a search on Hogdon powder,it brings up the loading data for hodgon, winchester and imr powders and is very comprehensive.

Excellent - see they have a load for a 125gr Partition in 6.5x47. Has to be worth trying when the rifle arrives...

Thanks for this - very useful.

The guide has some SKAN loads for the 6.5 x 55. Seems that they are loads suitable for modern rifles (it mentions Sako, Sauer and Blaser), as opposed to the loads that were suitable for older rifles. Some of them indicate quite a bit more powder than in the manuals I've already got.

I think I will cautiously investigate some of these.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Cheers,

Bob
