    Now, years ago I went to a display at the NRA Museum and the "Lewis and Clark air rifle" was nothing like that particular gun. The one I saw had a pressure vessel hanging from the underside of the rifle. I remember thinking how awkward that rifle must have been to shoot. I wonder which is correct?~Muir

    PS: As an aside, I don't buy the theory that fear of an air-rifle kept the indians from slaughtering Lewis and Clark. They would have had them for dinner if they had wanted to.
