Basic Marksmanship. 22nd May 2011 at Parton Range. 10am start.
Based at Parton on the A713 near New Galloway. A stress free, easy going day learning the basic skills of marksmanship. We are arranging this event to cater for those new to rifle shooting or those who have recently started shooting without any formal training or indeed those that simply miss their target. An uncomplicated day concentrating on the basics, how to zero your rifle, stance, position, grip, breath control, sight picture, trigger and follow through. The day will be stalking orientated using deer targets as well as zero targets. Time will be spent on the use of sticks, roe sacks as well as firing from sitting and kneeling positions. The day will be run at a pace to suit the students. Commencing in the classroom the day will involve dry fire as well as a considerable amount of live shooting. This event is open to non members as well as members of the BDS. Range fee £20.00p. Full details and directions will be sent to each candidate. Pre booking only as numbers are very limited.
