I drove to Sheridan, Wyoming yesterday afternoon to deliver some equipment and as usual, really enjoyed the spectacle of deer, antelope, and wild turkey that shows itself along the countryside between the Montana border and the Sheridan area. What I didn't expect was having to stop in downtown Sheridan while 12 mule deer, all in their winter-coat shed and being trailed by a few babies, made their way across the main street! They weren't alarmed, nor were they in a hurry. When they got to my side of the street they congregated on the grassy lawn of an insurance agency and began to browse.

It was an odd thing to see, but a real treat.~Muir
