Still on a bit of a high after stalking in to a cracking buck yesterday I thought I'd post a photo of him where I found him. No wonder they take some finding!

I had a similar view last week of a good buck near us. The problem was all I could see was the top of his head whilst he barked at me for 10 mins and then vanished.

Hell of a pic though, well done

I had the rifle supported fore and aft by my DIY B&Q custom built quad mega sticks and whilst holding the rifle with my left hand managed to align the camera lense on the phone with the scope. Fiddly to do but I had plenty of time.

DC .270 That is the best kind of stalking you can do and it takes skill an patience to do it consistently. Well done mate that is a nice buck and true woodland stalking.May i add it is also rare nowadays for some one to stalk through a wood most will wait in a high seat or wait for deer to use the edges.

I certainly have. I took the buck up to his place to butcher. He didn't look too green!

He's having his fair share of stalking success at the moment.

We've both got half an eye on the calendar too.

Did you head shoot it seeing that's all you could see?

I wont deny that the thought had crossed my mind. Steady on my sticks and only 60 ish yards away. I've known this boy for a few years and I wanted to keep the head so I waited for an hour until a standing broadside heart shot presented itself. About a second after he stood.
