Thread: Help me out and win a bottle of Grouse!

Help me out and win a bottle of Grouse!

We're struggling to come up with a kennel name to be used for our litter of cocker pups; the Kennel Club has rejected several suggestions as they have already been registered. I'll send the person who comes up with the best name (which is accepted by the KC) a 70cl bottle of Grouse (or a donation of 20 to either of the causes supported by Basil or John of yorkshireroestalking). I'd be happy with either an English, Welsh or a Gaelic name (as long as it's not something like Pog Ma Thoin). Each pup is individually named after birds, Raven, Merlin, Teal etc.

    Hi Moonraker.
I had the same problems with the KC with two of my litters of Cockers.
Everything i suggested seemed to have been spoken for already.!!
I got round this by looking at an O.S. map and looking at the names of hills
and burns(streams) around the area the pups were born, and low and behold
the name of the hill at which the pups were born at the bottom of was not taken.
Pernassie hill is now my kennel name for all litters.
I, like you named my first litter after birds, but game birds:-
Pernassie Pheasants Quill, Snipe Solo, Grouse Galore etc
    Next litter after insects:-
Pernassie Bumble Bee, Willow Wasp, Mighty Midge etc.
Try and keep it local to you. makes it more personal.
    Just a thought!!
    Good luck and cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Defore (as in D for Dog) or Cefore (as in C for Cocker)
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it, hump it or learn from it then piss on it and walk away.

As others have said name from local area hill river etc. mine is from a local valley, in your case why not MOONRAKER unlikely to be already used and better than a lot of names already in use.

Fionn as in Fionn mac Cumhaill pronounced Fe-yon, say it quickly .
was a mythical hunter-warrior of Irish mythology, occurring also in the mythologies of Scotland and the Isle of Man.
Are you trying to keep the theme of naming the dogs after birds
I can speak in-depth and with great knowledge about most subjects until some bugger who actually knows what he is speaking about opens his gob .

Thanks for the response so far. I'll dig out my local OS plan and search for inspiration. Keep the suggestions coming, though.
