Gralloching, Deer Carcass Preparation, Organ and Glands Inspection Option 1
This session is intended to be a 'hands on' opportunity for all stalkers and DSC Level 1 candidates and will cover the following:
It will be particularly suitable for DSC Level 2 candidates prior to taking witnessed stalks. It will also provide training for Wild Game Meat Handling 'Trained Hunters'.
- carcass preparation-removal of pluck, feet and head etc
- inspection of the animal before shooting
- inspection of the lymph glands
- DCS Best Practice Guides
Marksmanship coaching. Option 2
You will need a maximum of 20 rounds. Bipod and sticks. Coaching in breathing, trigger, position, follow through and calling your shot. Time will also be spent on deployment of sticks and bipods..
Butchery Demonstration Option3
A professional butcher will demonstrate butchery and sausage/burger making. This demonstration is intended to demonstrate professional butchery techniques to enable efficient and maximum utilisation of the carcass.
High Seat Building and Use of High Seats. Option 4
How to build a wooden high seat using agricultural rail. Positioning, Maintenance, Best Practice and Health and Safety. This will be a practical demonstration during which three high seats will be constructed.
