.243 with a 1:10 twist in my experience works best with bullet weights of 90-95 grn, as you are in Scotland you will need to use 100 grn for the larger deer species but even these will give a good enough group for stalking

Both the Hornady 243 105gr bullets are listed as match, so even if they stabilise in your .243, I personally wouldn't shoot them at red or sika.

I bought a box of Remington Core-Lokt 100gr recently to pursue sika with my .243 and I have used the Sako 100gr in the past with success. Unless you are doing lots of shooting, I would just buy a couple of boxes of Factory 100gr that your rifle likes for stalking and use a reloaded round for practice. When I fired the 105 A-Max from my Sako 75 using the original 1:10 twist barrel, the bullets went through the target sideways. The late moe243 found this very amusing.

Good luck. JCS

like anything...your rifle will always prove to be the exception that beats the rule when you least expect it.

Try them mate, .243 with 1-10 twist will normally prefer light bullets, but its not always so mine shoots 100gr perfect and have used RWS 105gr with no noticeable drop in accuracy or performance.
