Taken at Hengsbury Head on friday afternoon just as the light was going, thought it was to late but seems to work ok

Nice pic,the water drop adds too.
As you say about the light.. perhaps a bit more detail over the body feathers would be gained with the earlier light.
 
Cheers John, yea it was a really soft light and shooting at 840mm ie 600 lens plus 1.4tc made it a "soft"picture, half an hour earlier would have given it detail. but sometimes its interesting to have something different
 
Beautiful shot. The softness says a lot about the tranquility of that time of day. Well done
 
The 1.4 helps but also "doesnt" help if you get my drift as it buggers your f stops up light wise.
I get the light problem trying to get sambar pics at either end of the day.
My reasoning is if you keep taking enough pics we eventually get a good one.
Perhaps the 600 without the 1.4 may have just given you the edge at that time of day..keep posting them as I like your pics too.
