    CMM moderator question

I am soon to be in the market for a .223. My moderator, cmm4 is 1/2 inch20 threaded for my Styer prohunter. If I bought a Sako.223 threaded at 14mm 1/ could I buy only the thread section and change over as require so one mod fitted two rifles with different threads?
2/ If I could would this then be logged on my FAC as one moderator or two? In other words which of the five sections of the CMM is FAC controlled.

They have the section you want and will tell you the price but you may have to go through your local dealer.
I am surprised you did not know Jacksons were the importers

My understanding is that so long as you are permitted to hold a Mod for that calibre/cartridge, if one mod covers all your firearms, you are within the law. Therefor, only one mod on ticket.

Position and hold must be firm enough to support the firearm
The firearm must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Sight alignment (aiming) must be correct
The shot must be released and followed through without disturbing the position

speek to jacksons for best advice but I would imagine the threaded section is the controled item.

There is no legal requirement for you to hav the mod put on your ticket untill you intend to use it on a FAC conditioned weapon
Then you need to get that particular mod put on your ticket if the conditions of your ticket dictate that
If you hav a mod that is conditioned for multiple use then all you need to do is get the relevant threaded section to fit
This extra threaded section is not needed to be declared or put on a ticket and can be sent to you by normal post with no extra RFD charges
