A Classic - Webley&Scott Mk3 .22 Air Rifle
I have a Webley Mk3 serial number 15160 that I dont use and would do well in good home.
I have seen a similar one for sale with SN#41924 and was on sale for £300 in good condition.
This is a much earlier and older gun from what I can find is pre-1949 and as such is showing its age a little. Engraving of make and model on cylinder
It has some marks on the action and barrel where the blueing is worn away and would benefit from a re-blue if that is not sacrilege! Blueing is turning a brown hue in places.
It was fully stripped and serviced by me not too long ago and I have given it the once over just today to check.
Bore is clean and in good nick.
Seal and spring have been regularly oil/greased with appropriate non degrading lube for leather pistons.
Still punches holes in cans at 25 paces!
Stock is early fluted style complete with medalion, has a few marks on it but then this is over 50 years old and has been a work horse.
It has accounted for many magpies in my hands and god knows how many in my father's and his before him.
Front and Rear sights are present and work.
There is no scope rail on this and as far as I can tell it doesn't look like this one had the spot welded rail from the factory. I am unsure if that is a good indication of when it was manufactured.
Technically sound and in fine working order.
all moving parts are free and move well
Spring is still stiff after 50+ years.
I would like this to go to someone who knows more about them than me and sees it for the classic that it is rather than a plinker that can be neglected.
I did sell it but the sale fell through due to the buyer's personal situation.
It is back up again as I need the space in the cabinet!
I am looking for £150
It is listed on other sites so please register your interest by PM or email
Located in Edinburgh but I do travel and can get it to you in some locations
