    Kelpies on deer

Hello all, just wondering if anyone of you stalkers out there have trained and use a Kelpie as a deer dog. If so, did you find the training more or less difficult than normal deer dogs?

A Kelpie is what we call the Loch Ness Monster so possibly why you have had no replies reality I know the breed as they had them on the farm I worked on jackarooing in the Hunter, you don't see many here in the UK but I did know a stalker/shepherd on the west coast of scotland who used his border collie so, like most breeds I'd say you could get away with it but gundog/specialist breeds potentially are easier to train to deer.

I know the breed, can be very intelligent, but having a hearding, driving instinct and no real need to use thier nose i can think of better choices, also very noisy...

Hello nell and NickJ, thank you both for your replies. sorry about delay in replying. I have no experience of these dogs and was interested to get some advice on them.
