Just had 2 days Roe cull/stalk-ing with JR. Weather was grim to say the least but JRs enthusiasm was not deminished - I will say that had there been any suggestion of 'rainchecking' (excuse the pun!) I would have jumped at the chance!
Anyways, his persistance paid off Friday morning when we caught up with a 4pointer and all tidied up to the necessary requirements. The highlight of the afternoon stalk was getting onto what was a cracking representative animal only for it to disappear 80m in front of us even though we were sure he didnt know we were trailing him - this can and will happen every so often as after all deer are wild animals.
My culling and experiences with John R have all been excellent - from how well he knows his areas and the deer on them, his experiences, his banter, to him getting you into a position to take over and do the necessary.
