cuts

We had a thread on this not that long ago.

The surgical skin glue is a a different compound to standard cyanoacrylate. Designed to be less irritant to tissues. It is vastly more expensive.

Do beware that a wound must be properly cleaned before using the glue as otherwise you will just trap bacteria in and cause more problems.

Unless it is a very minor wound the animal would be better treated with a sedation or anaesthetic by a vet. It is almost impossible to clean a wound properly in a conscious dog.

If you are going to glue or even staple a large wound on a dog then you should not only clean the wound thoroughly, but when you do seal it up always leave a small piece open on one end so it can weep any goo out, here is a very god pic of a very large wound/s that have drains left in the ends to enable the goo to weep out..........

p.s. I use s/glue on myself and the dogs.
