just got back from a cracking 2 days with colin up in dumfries fancied a try at those infamous wild goats and combined it with a day on the roe bucks
we tried on the first day for roe and despite seeing several does the bucks unforntunatly remained eleusive. Colin took me around the estate and some of the stunning senery as well as showing me some of his set ups for boar and showed me some recent boar activity.
The second day saw us move to a different location for the goats we quickly saw a group with a very nice billy among them. We put in a tough stalk due to the terrain. But the goats moved off before we reached them. Colin spotted another group in distance and again we set off this time getting within 200 yards however again these moved off as the wind swirled last minute however we eventually caught up with them further on and was able to put in a good shot on a yeld nannie. The goat was well earned having covered some distance and the veiws from were we stalked were amazing as you can see from the pics.
Id like to thank colin for a cracking couple of days the weather was the best ive ever seen in scotland and cheers mate for the goat and the stiff legs.Attachment 15924Attachment 15925
