    Wane act

Is it still the case a young deer (juvenile male or female) can be shot upto the end of May?

There is nothing in either the WANE Act or the Deer Scotland Act 1996 which would, without an out of season authority, give you legal standing to shoot a juvenile roe doe after 31 March. No problem shooting juvenile bucks as they would come into season on 1 april.

The only defence for shooting a kid out of season would be to prevent suffering when the mother has been, or is about to be, shot. Of course, this won't be the case after 31st of March because mum will be out of season.
