I choose the Maxim, I have two, as I considered the over-the-barrel design to be a stronger solution rather than the CMM4 that screws just on the end of the barrel with no sleeving up the barrel.
I had the CMM4 on my previous rifle and found it well balanced, lightweight and had good noise reduction. It did however cut very very badly.
I now have the maxim and it is also well balanced, slightly heavier but still very light with no ill effects and has good noise reduction and no cutting
