1. ## Ballistic Jargon

Hi all,

I recently filled in the relevent data on a ballistic site, and got a calculated table, of the range and drop e.c.t . Question is what does DROP (MOA) mean and what relevence does this mean to the amount of clicks you adjust on your scope turrets?

Cheers.

Gringo.

2. MOA= Minute of Angle. One MOA is 1.047" at 100 yards. No doubt if I got the figure wrong someone will along to correct it soon.

Shooters generally round it down to 1" = 1 MOA.

3. MOA stands for Minute Of Angle, basically it's 1.047", or 1", for every hundred yards, or 1/60th of one degree.
Some scope adjustments are in 1/4 MOA per click so 4 clicks would be 1MOA.

4. As said about 1" per hundred yards.
1" at 100
2" at 200
3" at 300
You get the idea, these are all 1MOA.
If it was 2MOA it would be
2" at 100
4" at 200
6" at 300

So 1MOA at 1000y= 10"
5MOA at 500y=25"
