Fitting a Sling Stud Sauer

Hi,
is there anything I should be wary of fitting a sling stud to the forend of my Sauer 202 so I can put a bipod on it?

The stock is plastic and I can only seem to find instructions and studs for wood and laminate.

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian

I have had one fitted on my 202 which is plastic, no problem with it so far,

I could send you some photos if that would help you

Hi Briarquest,

I had the same problem fitting a swivel stud to my 202. As you can see from the following post,

http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4831

some people have had problems with the stud pulling through the stock. There is a small recess in the back of the stock where you can attach a metal plate to stop it pulling through.

However, Davie and Buck52 came up with a novel piece of engineering to attach a versapod bipod to the existing fore end stud without drilling any holes (see pictures in above post)

Willie

PS I got a spare stud from Sauer (free) and my friend is currently making me stud fitment to Buck52's design.

Hi Ian

Yes it is, it looks like they have trimmed a small amount off the sides of the washer to make it fit in there
