    Ref No: RR115 Assistant Deer Park Keeper, Eaton Estate North West- Closing date 10th August 2012
    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Estate in the newly created role of Assistant Deer Park Keeper. Reporting to the Deer Park Keeper you will assist in maintaining the 600+ strong herd of Fallow deer, continuously developing your knowledge and understanding of the animals and their behavior. Of equal importance, you will have responsibility for cultivating and maintaining the park land, both in terms of grazing and winter fodder and the smart appearance of the deer park environment. Significant machinery operation will be required including some use of firearms. There will be some requirement to provide out of hours cover and respond to emergencies.
    Qualifications and experience: Already qualified to BTEC National Diploma level 3 in Countryside Management or equivalent, you will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm for animal husbandry and behavior. Existing shotgun licence holder or experience of firearms is also desirable as is relevant farming or stock keeping experience. Personal qualities of enthusiasm, willingness to learn, an ability to work well with a diverse range of people across the Eaton Estate together with a ‘can do’ attitude are essential in this role.
    The Eaton Estate is the principal home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster and the Grosvenor family. Located to the south of Chester and extending to in excess of 12,000 acres, the Estate encompasses a diverse portfolio of residential, agricultural, commercial and mineral interests centred round Eaton Hall and includes a significant property holding within Chester as well as North Wales.

    Nice job, wouldn't like to comment on the top man though. As a jock once said "pure belter like"......

    He has a nice patch up near Durness, stalked on neighbouring ground a few years back and we stopped for lunch overlooking it.

    Nice area to live in I dont know the Deer manager very well but the keeper is a good guy and the locals don't bite, with a 338 LM you could probably shoot the windows out of Finbears house from work.
