I am interested in a deerhunter lower back backpack

as currentlyadvertised in classifieds by mmbeatle.

For Sale: deerhunter lower back backpack olive green

Has anyone any experience of using one?

Are the olive green and camo versions identical apart from colour?

. . .If they are then I believe this pack has shoulder straps as well as a waist strap/belt;
can anyone tell me whether the shoulder straps are a removable part? Without butchering it?
That is, can you use/wear it without the shoulder straps, if you want?
And then put the shoulder straps back on if/when you are heavily loaded?

I currently have a Stony Creek bum-bag and an Allen one, and am a great fan of a bumbag as opposed to a ruck-sack when stalking as I like to keep my right shoulder uncluttered by straps etc when shooting. I just need something slightly bigger than the Stony Creek or Allen at times.

yes you can take the straps off. either from shoulders or shoulder and waist. I use one for stalking. Its ok for the discounted price but i would want to pay much more. the loops the the shoulder straps hook on to parted within a week. i just clipped onto the accessory clips and all works fine.

room to store all your bits and outer compressing straps to tighten the bag or to store rolled up waterproofs. outside pockets are waterproof. i have tested it a good few times in the early morning rains we have been getting.

sportsman gun centre have them on special offer.
