Shipping to the US, advice please.

    Some advice on this please.
An american has has the question, can he take a cured skinned out cape back to the US, or if it has been completed by a taxidermist in the UK is there a specialist shipping company that can deal with it in relation to the exportation process and any experience of cost?
    Many thanks

I have just sent two boxes of trophies off to the States in the last 3 weeks, and been doing it for many years. The USA Fish and Wildlife laws are pretty strict in the states and have recently been tightened.

Any trophies sent must be boiled clean. Skins need to be salt cured and completely dried. The box must be made of timber as per airline and USA fish/wildlife regulations. All trophies must go through a designated port of entry for Fish and Wildlife in the States. You really need a handling forward agent in the states to do this, on the east coast it is Fauna and Flora, the west coast is a company called Coppa I think, I would need to check.

Also they do not allow more than one clients trophies in each box!! this has caused some issues when you have a group of hunters together.

As for flying it out from this end, there are a few who know what they are doing, and a lot that claim to but dont. ( Trust me over 30 years of doing this and some companies are at a loss when it comes to shipping trophies)

If you need any help drop me a PM and I will give you my phone number for a chat.
